Art Bot Kit
Build a wooden robot that makes its own art. A motor set off balance makes the robot shake, and the markers on its legs turn that motion into loops and spirals. Move the weight, shorten a leg, or swap a marker and watch the drawing change. Small changes to a machine make big changes in what it produces, which is the same idea engineers test when they design robots and rovers.

Why a Robot That Draws?
NASA uses robots such as orbiters, landers, and rovers to explore Mars and other hard-to-reach places. These robots collect data and help prepare for future human missions. Each one is designed with a specific structure and energy source so it can complete tasks where humans cannot go. Rovers, for example, are built to move across rough planetary surfaces.
Art Bot works the same way on a smaller scale. A motor powers it, and its shape decides how it moves and what it draws. Change the shape and you change what it does, which is the heart of mechanical design. Every adjustment turns into a brand-new drawing.
For classrooms
Each kit builds one Art Bot. Every kit arrives individually packaged with all materials and instructions included, so every student opens a complete kit ready to build.
