Real-world connection
Why a Human Circuit?
Every time a light turns on, electricity is flowing through a complete circuit, a closed path that connects a power source to the device it powers. Linemen and power workers keep those paths connected across entire neighborhoods so the lights stay on. When a line breaks, the circuit opens and the power stops.
The Circuit Stick works the same way, with people as the path. Touch both ends and the circuit closes. Let go, and it opens just like a switch. Add more hands to the chain, and every person becomes part of the circuit.
For classrooms
One Circuit Stick connects a whole group, because every student who joins hands becomes part of the circuit. Start with one student holding both ends, then add a partner, then the whole class. Class Packs let several groups test at once. Every stick arrives individually packaged with an instructional card, ready to use the moment it comes out of the package, and supports NGSS content on how electric currents transfer energy.
