Coding Robot
Explore coding, solve missions, make music, and design challenges, all with no screens. Snap together puzzle cards to build a map of outer space or a neighborhood, then line up instruction cards to program the robot's path.
Themed mats take coding even further. Trace the stages of a butterfly and an apple tree life cycle, compose your own melody on saxophone, accordion, piano, or violin, or plan a route to score in a soccer match. Designed to introduce robotics and coding to young learners, it is simple enough that even preschoolers can code successfully.

Real-world connection
Why Start Coding Without a Screen?
Every robot follows instructions written in code. With this robot, the code is a row of instruction cards, and each card is one step. Lay the cards out in order, run the program, and watch the robot follow the path. If it goes the wrong way, find the step that needs fixing and try again. That cycle of sequencing, testing, and fixing is how programmers think when they write and debug code.
Building these skills early with hands-on cards lays the foundation for later learning. As a result, when students move on to coding on a screen, ideas like order, steps, and repeating patterns already make sense.
Along the way, coding connects to science, music, and play. The robot traces the stages of a butterfly and an apple tree life cycle, plays musical notes for composing an original melody, and races to score in a soccer match. With hands-on cards instead of a screen, no devices or Wi-Fi are needed.
For classrooms
Class Packs let several small groups code at once. Each robot arrives with its own cards, mats, charger, and instructional guide, and no coding experience is needed to teach it. It is the same screen-free robot included in the Teaching STEM Through Literacy Teacher Kit.
